Oral English Course Objectives

1.   Students will be able to explain daily activities in English in a way other people can understand
2.   Students will be able to compare and contrast the various types of economics, technology and business
3.   Students will be able to express their feelings in English with good pronunciation and intonation accurately.
4.   Students will be able to think by themselves creatively on a topic given or of their choice and talk about it, and explain their opinion in English.
5.   Students will be able to speak English using all the tenses especially present, past and future tenses and plural and singular forms appropriately.

General Expectations of Dr.David Ngin Sian Pau’s Class

1. Students will come to class prepared to participate in learning activities.
     a.  Students will be in the class when the bell rings and sit immediately.
     b.   Bring all required materials to class - completed homework, textbook, pens, paper, assignment notebook and anything else required for that
          day’s activities.

2. Students will show respect for themselves, others, and the materials in this classroom.
     a.Students will use only positive speech when talking to, about or with others.
     b.Students will treat all materials owned by others with care and respect.
     c.Students will act appropriately and maturely.

3. Students will succeed in all learning activities.
     a.Students falling behind or who have questions, will ask the teacher as soon as it is possible to answer the question or get help in understanding the  
        work to be done.
     b.Students will ask for clarification if they are not completely sure what is expected for an assignment.
      c. Students will hand in or present only their very best work on all assignments (no copying).

                  Homework Policy

1. Every homework is due at the beginning of the class and will not be accepted late except due to absence. (If you miss one day class, you have one
    day to make up the work.)
2. The student is responsible for finding out what is also due on the day he/she returns through his/her study partners.
3. Completing and turning in homework is your responsibility, I will not seek you out.
                    
                      Grading

1.  Each student’s final grade for each term will be based on the following:
                Attendance15%
                Homework 10%
                Listening   10%
                In-Class Activity 15%
                Final Oral English Test  50%

             3. The date it is returned to the teacher.
