Objectives                    :-To describe and speculate about a place in a photo using adjectives to describe feelings.
                                       -To practise using verbs of movement (plunge  down, crawl across, struggle up, scramble
                                         along, go up a slope, move with hands and feet, go down very fast, go over objects using
                                          your hands to help you).
                                        -To learn VERBS with -ing form and to + infinitive.



Warm Up                     : Student A: Read the information about the Incas.  Then ask and answer questions to complete it.

                                        Student B: Read the information about Incas. Then ask and answer questions to complete it.
                                                         (pg.131)
                                        What do you think were the most important things about Incas?                        (10 minutes)



Reading                         : Read the text and answer the questions.                                                            (20 minutes)
                                         Get to know the meaning of bewildered, ecstatic, exhausted, impressed, indifferent,
                                                                                     shocked, spellbound. Use the mini dictionary.
                                        1. What do you know about Machu Picchu?
                                        2. Read the introduction about the explorer, Hiram Bingham.
                                        3. How do you think he felt when he found the lost city of Machu Picchu? 
                                        4. Tell the meaning of amazed, bewildered, ecstatic, exhausted, impressed, indifferent, shocked
                                            and spellbound.
                                        5. What are the most important historical sites in your country? Have you been to any of them?

Phrasal Verbs                 : Replace the verbs in italics with the verbs below.                                               (10 minutes)
                                          plunge down, crawl across, struggle up, go on all fours, stroll, scramble along, climb up.
                                          1. In the evening, I usually walk in the park with my elderly dog.
                                          2. When I got to the pool, I immediately jumped into the deep end.
                                          3. I walked up the steep hill with five or six shopping bags.
                                          4. The entrance to the cave was small so I went through it on my hands and knees.
                                          5. Last month I went up the Eiffel Tower without taking the lift.


Grammar Practise          : To learn VERBS with -ing form and to + infinitive. e.g. Remember to visit New York.

Homework                      : Do exercises in page 94, 95, 100 & 109 of Language Powerbook and turn in your homework
                                          on Wednesday before exam begins.
