Practical Conversation Listen to a conversation and retell whatever you remember to the class indirectly. Group A will do role play, B will repeat it again and rest of the class will listen and re-tell the conversation without seeing the text. In Richard’s Company 1.Richard:What’sup? You look down today. 2.David: Oh. I lost my briefcase in the metro. 3.Richard: That’s too bad. I’m sorry to hear that. But how come? 4.David: This morning, I got a seat in the train. I put my briefcase beside and read the newspaper. When it’s time to get off, I packed the newspaper. You know the train is always crowed at the commute time, so I fought my way out. When I got of the station, suddenly I realized I didn’t carry my briefcase! 5.Richard: What’s in your briefcase? 6.David: The wallet, the key, the mobile phone, and things like that. But the worst is that my portable computer is in it! 7.Richard: I can’t believe it! I worked overnight yesterday and finished the whole project for the Toy Company. You know it’s the fruit of a month’s hard work of our team work. 8.Richard: Calm down. It’s no use complaining now. Try to find a way out. 9.Mike: Richard is right. David, why not call the Metro Station and ask them to search for briefcase? 10.Jiajia: I’ll find out the number of the Metro Station. 11.David: You’re considerate. 12.Richard: I have the copy of the original resources of the project. Mary and I will help you work the plan out again. 13.Mike: count me in! (The phone rings. Mary goes to answer it.) 14.Mary: David, it’s for you. From the Metro Station. 15.David: Hello, this is David. Yes … yes… Thank you very much. I’ll be there right now. (David puts down the phone.) 16.David: Good news! A young man found my briefcase and handed it to the station. They found my name card and called me. 17.All: Great! 18.David: Anyway, thank you all the same for your kindness. Hey, that afternoon tea is on me! |
