Teacher Training Materials of Professor Dr David Ngin Sian Pau
Classroom Rules and Regulations

· It is strongly advised to teachers that they must set up classroom rules and regulation.
· Even syllabus, equality, respecting one another etc. in the classroom should be taught in the first place
to students from the very beginning.
· Teacher should be able to use his or her power accordingly and reasonably in the classroom.
· When students are making noise, teacher should know how to stop them by clapping hands, switching
off the light for a second, telling the class “Listen class” etc.

How to use time in the classroom

Time management in the classroom depends on the lesson plan.

· Can we fix the time for every item we have to do in the classroom?
· Normally, one class is about 45 minutes almost every where.
· Warm up session  (5 to 10 minutes) because it’s just to prepare the student’s readiness to learning.
· Home work if the students have to turn in their homework.(5 minutes)
· Classroom activity
· Other items.

Sometimes, we spend more time than we ought to use but if we know that it’s appropriate and good for the students’ learning, we should be flexible too.
