Classroom and Time Management
Teacher’s Attitute in the classroom
1. Respect your pupils and be realistic.
2. As a teacher, you have to appear to like all your pupils equally.
3. Feel secure in what you are doing.
4. Accept whatever they say including mistakes. Direct correction may not be effective for children.
5. Give the children the responsibility for doing practical jobs in the classroom.
6. Avoid organized competition.
7. Avoid giving physical rewards or prizes. It tells others that they have not won and it does not help
learning to take place. Don’t exclude anyone in learning English.
8. Don’t give children English names.
Teacher outside the classroom
1. Try to have English corner.
2. Use color pencils when you mark files and pictures etc. because children will accept your work easily.
How to arrange the classroom

2. Arrangement two: see pictures
3. Arrangement three: see picture.
Grouping the children
1. Pair work
2. Group work
3. Team work
4. Role play.
When grouping children, they should not be allowed to choose the group in which they want to join in. It takes a long time.
The teacher’s position in the classroom
1. Teacher standing while students sitting facing the teacher.
2. Teacher should not use blackboard all the time.
3. Chalk and talk will always be the basic way teachers communicate with large classes, but it must not be
the only way.
Should the teacher give corrections in the classroom?
· Yes, but the teacher should see the appropriate time.
· The end of a conversation or classroom activity, etc.
How to give punishment to the disobedient
1. Teachers are social engineers. Teachers should be creative in modeling the students.
2. If student does not do assignment, increase the number of lines on the same assignment he or she did
not do. Till the student finished the task, don’t allow the kid to do other activities.
3. Giving punishments to kids for the purpose of educating them is legal.
